Background
The Glorious Health Club is a legendary fixture of the underground DC nightclub scene and its owner, Bob Siegel is a local legend. When the pandemic struck and business got tough. Bob turned to Honeydew Energy Advisors for some creative solutions. Honeydew brought together a team to design, build, and manage a combined rooftop and solar parking canopy system that both cut electric bills and generated income at no cost to the business. What’s more, all of the energy is being donated to lower income households in DC through the Solar for All program.
Results
Not only does the net income work out to around $30,620 annually, but the parking canopy protects customer’s vehicles from the elements and makes an amazing venue for outdoor events. This is a great example of a triple win for Bob’s business, lower income families, and the environment.
