Background
The Organization of American States is one of the oldest and most influential international governmental associations in the world and even predates the United Nations. Headquartered in Washington DC, it’s beautiful campus features beautiful Spanish colonial architecture nestled in a grove near to the World War II Memorial. Honeydew Energy Advisors were honored to be selected to implement an LED lighting upgrade and rooftop solar array.
Results
Managing the RFP process from soup to nuts, the Honeydew team was able to negotiate a $110,000 upfront payment for a solar array and ongoing annual energy savings of nearly $50,000. The reduced energy consumption from high efficiency LED lighting was able to reduce energy and maintenance savings to over $121,000 per year. OAS was able to simultaneously increase their operational capacity and demonstrate their commitment to environmental stewardship by working with Honeydew.
