Background
Randolph Towers are a close-knit coop community located right next to some of the best Taco spots in DC’s Columbia Heights neighborhood and has an amazing view looking over Rock Creek Park. The Community was looking for a way to take advantage of DC’s incredibly generous SRECs, but had been restricted in how much PV it could deploy by the mechanical equipment that occupied its rooftop.
Results
Honeydew was able to source a rooftop canopy manufacturer that had the perfect solution for this building. Switching from a traditional ballast system to a rooftop canopy allowed for a system that over 7 times larger! Honeydew combined this technology with the most competitive financing to provide Randolph Towers with a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with a fixed rate that was less than half of what they were paying to Pepco and would sustain for 20 years.
