Honeydew in Miami

Everything we manage for a Miami building.

Compliance is how most clients meet us. Verification, supply where the market allows it, solar screening and bill auditing are why they stay.

No obligation. We will tell you if you do not need us.
What we run in Miami
Compliance Annual benchmarking 20,000 sq ft and 5 units, filed with the City of Miami.
Deadline June 30, annual Administered through the Touchstone IQ platform.
Verification Not required today We still verify floor area, because every metric here is per square foot.
Energy supply Regulated market No retail choice here, so the savings work is efficiency, incentives and bill auditing.

Dates and thresholds change. We confirm the current requirement for your specific building before anyone acts on it.

How the pieces fit together in Miami.

A covered building in Miami is dealing with an annual filing, a set of local rules that change more often than anyone expects, and a capital plan that has to satisfy an owner or a board. Handled separately, those generate vendors who do not talk to each other.

We are the accountable partner across all of it. We are not engineers and we do not pretend to be. We make sense of the rules, verify the data, bring in the right specialists, and give the building a plan it can act on.

The practical benefit is that the data gets built once. The same verified floor area and clean utility record that drives your compliance position also drives a supply bid, an incentive application, or a solar screening.

Local detail that changes the answer
BE305 is live
A lot of the Miami market still believes there is no requirement. There is, and it applies from 20,000 sq ft and five units.
FPL data needs notarised authorisation
Aggregate utility data runs through a city pilot and requires notarised letters of authorisation, which adds lead time that should be planned rather than discovered.
No Florida preemption
There is no state preemption blocking the city mandate, which is another common misconception.
The services behind this page

How we start

Deadline work first. Everything else on your schedule.

1
Position review
Coverage, current data, floor area, and what is outstanding.
2
Close the compliance gap
Filings, verification where it applies, and any notice response.
3
Review energy supply and procurement
No retail choice here, so we review rate class, tariff fit and billing errors instead.
4
Screen the opportunities
Incentives, solar, audits, and measures that also improve the compliance position.
5
Manage it forward
One point of contact, one set of numbers, and reminders that arrive before the deadline.
Why now

A live mandate that half the market still thinks does not exist.

BE305 is real and enforceable, and the persistent belief that Miami has no benchmarking requirement is the main reason buildings here are behind. There is also no Florida preemption blocking it.

The lead-time item is the notarised authorisation for FPL data. That is a scheduling task with a real signature requirement, and it is the reason Miami filings should start well before June.

Received a letter?

What a City of Miami notice usually means.

BE305 is live, and the letters are real.

Send us the letter
Covered building notification
The building meets the 20,000 sq ft and five unit test and the June 30 filing is due. The old belief that Miami has no requirement is out of date.
Non-compliance notice
The filing is missing. The practical lead-time item is the notarised authorisation FPL requires for aggregate data, so start there.

Send us the letter itself, not a summary. We read it for the six things that decide the response: who sent it, which building and identifier it names, what period it covers, what it says you failed to do, the cure date, and whether it is a first notice or an escalation. We never quote a running penalty total, and we cure first, then talk to the regulator.

Questions about working with us in Miami

With whatever has a date on it. Usually that is the filing or the standard, and the supply and advisory work follows once the compliance position is clean. We would rather earn the second engagement than bundle it.

Yes, and we do it constantly. A clear thirty-minute presentation is often what unlocks a decision.

Yes. BE305 applies from 20,000 sq ft and five units, and there is no state preemption. If someone has told you otherwise, that advice is out of date.

Because FPL aggregate data runs through a city pilot that requires notarised letters of authorisation. We plan for that rather than discovering it in the final week.
