Colorado
Statewide Building Performance Colorado. Reporting season runs from July through November rather than to a single deadline. Condominiums are covered only where heating, cooling, or hot water is shared and centralised.
A five hundred dollar annual fee applies per covered building, with public buildings exempt from both fees. Screen condominiums on their mechanical systems, never on the covered list. A separate progress survey is now also due.
Denver
Energize Denver. Deemed compliance covers the state performance standard only, so benchmarking still files to both portals and state fees remain due.
The 2026 benchmarking and third-party verification deadlines have passed, so Denver books need triage now rather than at the next cycle. There is a full condominium and homeowner association alternate compliance regime with a reserves test.
Boulder
Building Performance Ordinance covers commercial and industrial only. Condominiums, cooperatives, and residential multifamily are not covered, and a Boulder condominium at 50,000 square feet owes the state programme alone.
No deemed compliance here, so a covered commercial building files with both the city and the state and pays the state fee. The regime is prescriptive, audits, lighting, and retrocommissioning, rather than a numeric target.
Regulatory dates, thresholds, penalties, and program mechanisms change, and several of the programs above have draft elements that are not yet settled. Nothing on this page is a determination about a specific building. Confirm the current requirement for the individual property before acting, and we will do that with you.
Not sure which rulebook applies?
Mailing city is not the same as jurisdiction, and one property can sit in two programs at once. Give us the address and we will check it properly.

A notice, a deadline, a portfolio, or simply a question. You do not need to have it organized before you call.
